Time To Enter The IHMRS Foodservice Pioneering Concept Contest

Imagine a world with no limitations—no client, no budget—and endless possibilities. What kind of foodservice concept would you design?

The folks at the International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show would like to find out. The IHMRS is inviting designers and operators to put their expertise and imagination together to create the next great Foodservice Pioneering Concept for a nontraditional location (such as an atrium, lobby, walkway or courtyard). The winning concept will be built on the IHMRS show floor and will be featured in a future issue of Foodservice Equipment Reports, the program’s media partner.

The winning concept—selected by a panel of distinguished judges—will be built as a life-sized, working “set” right on the exhibit show floor. The model will be an actual gathering place for food and equipment demonstrations at the Nov. 8-11 show.

Required elements include a concept narrative describing the vision, a concept sketch in a four-color rendering and a floor plan, elevation and equipment list.

IHMRS will pay for the winner’s travel and hotel expenses to New York to supervise installation of the project, attend the show and present a seminar at the Javits Center. Additionally, IHMRS will create a video interview with the winner to run on both FER and IHMRS websites.

Go to ihmrs.com and click on “Foodservice Pioneering Concept” for the application and full details on how to enter. Completed submissions are due May 9. Contact Phil Robinson, show director, Hospitality Media Group, at 212/754-7920 with questions.
