Duke Buys Houston-Based CounterCraft

Duke Mfg. announced June 11 that it would purchase CounterCraft, a Houston-based, privately owned custom serving and counter design manufacturer. The firm, founded in 2005, will continue operating in Houston as a de-centralized company under Pres. Lloyd Hartsfield.

St. Louis-based Duke has had a successful three-year joint-venture operation with CounterCraft, according to Duke Pres. Dave Marvel. “We believe this acquisition will leverage the strengths of both companies and create even greater traction and increased customer value.”

Marvel added that the CounterCraft management team will maintain the way it goes to market, including its use of reps and services such as in-house installation.  Duke CEO Jack Hake said the acquisition “provide us the distinct opportunity to leverage our market-leading serving and counter business with the most innovative custom design and manufacturer in the country.”
