SFM Conference Registration Open, Asking For Award Nominations

Registration is ongoing for the Society for Foodservice Management’s National Conference, set for Oct. 4-7 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando, Fla. The three-day meeting includes business strategy and professional development workshops covering topics such as crisis management and food safety; foodservice contract language; and the who/what/how to’s of sustainable foods and beverages.

Also on the agenda are the association’s annual awards presentations. Through August 20, SFM is accepting applications for its awards program, which honors SFM members “who exemplify the spirit of the Society through leadership, service and spirit.” All SFM members are invited and encouraged to submit nominations for the Directors’ Awards in the categories of community service, leadership, lifetime achievement, spirit; and the Richard Ysmael Distinguished Service award. Find it at Directors’ Award Nomination Form.

Nominations are also sought for the Pacifico Award, named for long-time SFM member Bob Pacifico, in recognition of extended, exemplary, and dedicated service to the Society; his or her community; and the onsite foodservice industry. As with the Directors Awards, all SFM members are invited to submit nominations. Pacifico Award Nomination Form.
