MAFSI Welcomes New President, Says Goodbye To Fraga

There are changes afoot at Manufacturers’ Agents Association for the Foodservice Industry. Last month, MAFSI elected Joe Ferri, CPMR, CFSP, as its 58th president. Ferri, a 32-year industry veteran, is COO of Pecinka Ferri Associates, Little Falls, N.J.

Ferri’s new post was announced during the association’s 47th Business Development Conference and Sales Management Forum. Also elected were Jeff Couch, Preferred Marketing Group, Chatsworth, Calif., and Chris Jeens, W.D. Colledge Co. Ltd., Mississauga, Ontario, as vice presidents. MAFSI’s membership comprises 275 independent manufacturers’ representative agencies in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Last week, MAFSI said goodbye to longtime staff member Suzanne Fraga. She joined the Atlanta-based association in 2001 as director of public relations and, before becoming membership director and associate executive director, took on positions overseeing communications, technology and market research. Fraga also was the staff architect of the MAFSI Business Barometer, website and online Locator as well as editor of OutFront magazine. In 2010, she received a special achievement award for her leadership and contributions to MAFSI. Fraga will be at home with her fourth child, due next month.
