Leon Goes Dutch

Leon Restaurants, the London-based “healthy” quick-service chain, plans to launch in Holland this year.

The move onto the continent comes soon after Leon ramped up its domestic expansion. The concept, which serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes such as roasted vegetable salads and sweet potato falafels, opened its first outlet in 2004 on London’s Carnaby Street and turned a profit for the first time in ‘14. Last year, Leon opened 12 new sites, taking it to 33 outlets across the U.K. Currently, it is looking at expanding in Bristol, Manchester and Norwich.

Leon is working with a franchise partner, HMSHost, to open in the Netherlands. The company also has its sights set on the U.S. market.
