In Memoriam: Consultant Reggie Daniel

Reggie Daniel, Director of Design for Camacho Associates, died unexpectedly September 28. He was 68 years old.

A Charlotte, N.C., native, Daniel served in the U.S. Air Force before going on to a long career as a foodservice consultant. He was recognized as an industry leader and innovator in the foodservice equipment and design world, says FER Editor in Chief Beth Lorenzini. “Everyone lit up when they saw Reggie—he just had that effect. He made immediate connections that formed enduring friendships. As a designer,” she adds, “Reggie had a unique ability to combine creativity and practicality; his foodservice facilities presented beautifully and functioned flawlessly. I think his plan for the SAS Institute in Cary, N.C., in 2011 is a great example. His passing is a real loss. I’m so grateful to have known him.”

His son and colleague, Brett Daniel, was recently named as FER’s Young Lion in the consultant category. Daniel also is survived by his wife, Cherylanne Weaver; a daughter Leah; five grandchildren; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer.

Services have been held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
