Great Lakes West Acquires Pittsburgh Dealer

Great Lakes West has acquired certain assets of HMAK, a Pittsburgh-based dealer. The Mattawan, Mich., dealer says the acquisition will help it better serve Great Lakes customers in Pennsylvania and beyond by offering state-of-the-art design capabilities and increased competitiveness in the foodservice industry.

HMAK, now operating as a division of Great Lakes West, will retain its home offices and continue to operate under the same name; all HMAK employees are expected to remain with the company under the continued leadership of Adam Cohen. “What Great Lakes can offer in the design-build market is tremendous,” Cohen says, “and more importantly the tools they use in the design process are part of many transformational technology trends that will shape the future of our industry.”

Great Lakes West, established in 1999 and led by Marc Israel, provides turn-key equipment packages for foodservice venues. It reported sales of $68 million in 2017, and falls under the same corporate umbrella as Great Lakes Hotel Supply
