The Midwest burger and breakfast brand Frisch’s Big Boy has named restaurant industry veteran James Walker its new CEO.

Walker has over 30 years of senior-level management experience in the restaurant industry, working with brands like Nathan’s Famous, Baja Fresh, Cinnabon and Subway. At Nathan’s Famous, where Walker worked most recently, he served as senior vice president of restaurants. He was credited for repositioning the brand as “The Flavor of NY” and developing the sandwich menu offerings to drive check average and frequency.

As CEO of Frisch’s Big Boy, Walker says his role is to guide the concept in leveraging its brand equity.

“Fewer and fewer restaurant brands today have the kind of legacy that Frisch’s Big Boy has. The people of Cincinnati and surrounding areas have an emotional connection with this brand,” says Walker in a press release. “As the brand celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, I couldn’t be more excited about joining an incredible team that understands that connection.”

Frisch’s Big Boy has over 100 company-owned and franchise partner locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
