Post-NAFEM, International Shows Beckon

We know your feet are still recovering from walking the aisles at NAFEM, and your Blackberry is full of new contacts and product ideas. But there are a few more shows you might not want to miss.

Equipment is the focus at INTERNORGA in Hamburg, Germany. The 85th annual  International Fair for the Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Baking and Confectionery Trades, runs March 18-23. More than 1,100 exhibitors are expected from 27 countries, according to show organizers, who add that the foodservice equipment and machines aisles include some 250 companies presenting innovations in induction, hood technology, integrated steam, deep-frying and warewashing equipment. More details are at www.internorga.com.

Less than a week later, it’s the 20th annual Hotelex Shanghai, March 29-April 1 at Shanghai’s International Expo Center. Show planners say more than 65% of exhibits will focus on foodservice equipment.

In conjunction with Hotelex Shangahi’s dates, the FCSI Asia Pacific Division plans to hold its annual conference and seminars. Themed “The 21st Century Kitchen,” the meeting will focus on planning and designing the future kitchen. Educational seminars include a workshop on applying cook-chill technology to Asian cuisine in central production kitchens, and a program on future trends and green technologies. More on Hotelex Shanghai and the FCSI program are here.
