Oh, But Foodservice Is Such A Big Market

We don’t often report data on eating- and drinking-place sales, which come monthly from the U.S. Census Bureau, in part because they can be a bit unreliable according to people more knowledgeable than we are about operator trends.

But we couldn’t let this issue end without noting that such sales exceeded $40 billion for the first time in February. Actually, sales reached $40.5 billion in the month—which remember only has 28 days—a 1.2% increase from 31-day January. That’s a lotta hamburgers, and salads, wraps and steaks, iced tea and ice cream.
