There’s An App For That: REW Has It

Restaurant Equipment World is entering the new year with a new app. Not only is REW one of the first foodservice equipment dealers to launch one, its app has a moniker that will garner attention. “The Restaurant Equipment App" lets operators shop for thousands of foodservice items in the company’s catalog and more than 220 internet sites. Its other features include a manufacturer’s directory and real-time online order tracking. The iPhone/iPod/iPad/Android app will automatically update itself.

This is not REW’s first app. The company introduced its first app for the Palm VII handheld device in October 2000. REW Pres. Brad Pierce says, "Back in those days, people would give me strange looks as I held the little device in my hand, wondering what in the world I was doing. They were shocked when I told them I was connected ‘online’ wirelessly.”

Orlando, Fla.-based REW also has operations in Dubai, UAE. The 35-year-old company is a wholly owned subsidiary and trade name of Pierce Sales Co.
