McDonough Joins Heritage As CEO

John McDonough has joined Heritage Food Service Group as its new CEO, effective June 1. McDonough has more than 20 years of experience in the foodservice equipment manufacturing and aftermarket service industry. He most recently served as president of the ITW Food Equipment Group in North America, which comprises brands including Hobart, Vulcan, Traulsen, Wolf, Baxter and Gaylord. At Heritage, McDonough will work closely with company founder R. Bruce Dye, who remains chairman of the board, and the rest of the Heritage management team to ensure a smooth transition into his new post.

Heritage Food Service Group is the nation’s largest supplier of replacement parts for commercial cooking, kitchen and refrigeration equipment; the Fort Wayne, Ind.-based company maintains a $10 million OEM stock from 600 manufacturers in distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada.

In December 2011, in partnership with Dye, Heritage was acquired by The Jordan Company, a private equity firm. Dye has served as chairman and CEO of Heritage since he founded the company in 1987. With McDonough as CEO and in charge of day-to-day operations of the business, Dye will pursue other outside interests, while retaining his title as chairman, and remaining a significant shareholder and mentor.
