Middleby Marshall, now marking its 125th anniversary, is at the center of a new business intersection in Elgin, Ill. On Sept. 4, the city presented the Elgin-based foodservice equipment manufacturer with an honorary street sign, “Middleby Way,” which is now displayed on Toastmaster Drive. It is only the third such honorary street sign in the city of 109,000, and the first time a local business has ever received the recognition.
Middleby Marshall Group President Mark Sieron and other Middleby employees attended the unveiling ceremony and official proclamation by Mayor David Kaptain. (Our FER homepage photo shows Sieron, flanked by the mayor on his left and City Manager Sean Stegall on his right.)
Middleby Marshall is a division of The Middleby Corp., which has its corporate headquarters in the Elgin building; both the Middleby Marshall and CTX brands are manufactured there.
“This is a memorable day for Middleby Marshall, the Middleby Corporation and all of our brands,” Sieron said. “We are honored to receive this prestigious recognition from Mayor Kaptain and the city of Elgin. Now when our customers come to visit from all over the world, the street sign is a visible message of our close ties with the community we serve.”
