FEDA Convention Kicks Off

A lot of familiar faces are arriving at San Antonio Int’l Airport today and tomorrow for the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association’s April 5-9 convention at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa,

The registration desk is open all day for new arrivals, while FEDA’s executive committee and board of directors hold meetings. Wednesday night includes the industry kick-off banquet as well as receptions for first-timers and for (40 and under) young executives.

Keynote Speaker Daniel Pink starts things off Thursday with a talks on Leadership and New Principles of Influence and How Smart Companies Are Rethinking Innovation. Other presentations on Thursday and Friday include Viral Business/Inspiring Customer Loyalty, Hiring and Compensating Salespeople, Unleashing the Potential of Every Generation, Five Things Every CEO Should be Able to Do From Their Phone, and How to Structure a Winning Sales Department.

Friday includes 10 dealer-only roundtables to discuss best practices, while FER Publisher Robin Ashton provides an overview of trends in the equipment and supplies industry.

Saturday’s events begin with remarks from NAFEM Pres. Kevin Fink and FEDA Pres. Joe Schmitt, and a presentation on Fearless Leadership; the day continues with golf and tennis tournaments and the association’s closing banquet.

Attendees can use FEDA’s mobile convention app to plan their schedules, navigate the various presentations and events, and connect with colleagues. The app, available at this link, can be accessed via any laptop, smartphone or tablet browser. It lists all of the session and event descriptions and locations, speaker information, attendee lists, a map of the meeting rooms as well as other helpful information regarding the FEDA convention.
