Midwest foodservice equipment and supplies dealerships Central Restaurant Products and The Hubert Co. are joining forces to unify operations starting next year, announced TAKKT AG, the dealerships’ parent company.

Effective Jan. 1, the companies will centralize back-of-house functions, including finance, IT and human resources, a move TAKKT AG says will increase product assortment, elevate customer service and improve service delivery.

“Enhancing the partnership at these two market-leading companies is a fantastic opportunity to better serve our customers in the long run through improved operating efficiencies, increased synergy and higher service levels,” says Marcelo Podesta, division president at TAKKT Group, foodservice and office furniture and displays, in a press release.

Indianapolis-based Central Restaurant Products and Cincinnati-based Hubert will continue to operate under their own brand identities. Taizoon Jhaveri, current president of Hubert, will head the new entity.

TAKKT AG says more details on the dealerships’ strategic alliance will be shared in 2023.

Both companies landed on FER’s 2022 Top Dealers report, with Central Restaurant Products coming in at No. 12 and The Hubert Co. snagging the No. 17 spot.

Earlier this month, two other foodservice equipment and supplies dealerships, Tableware Int’l. and FSE, also announced they were joining forces in a strategic alliance. The companies said the alliance will create access to enhanced purchasing opportunities and operational synergies, while enabling the dealerships to benefit from economies of scale.
