“Game Change” Authors To Headline Public Affairs Conference

Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, political reporters and managing editors at Bloomberg Politics during the 2016 election cycle, will address the NRA’s 31st annual Public Affairs Conference next month. The duo will speak March 28, the first day of the two-day conference in Washington, D.C.

Halperin and Heilemann will address more than 500 restaurateurs from across the country as they convene in the capital to meet with lawmakers and discuss key legislation and policy issues impacting the foodservice industry.

The pair are co-authors of the bestsellers Game Change and Double Down (on the 2008 and 2012 elections), and during the last election cycle, they served as the creators, executive producers and hosts of Showtime’s political documentary series The Circus.

The conference, themed “Restaurants Open Doors,” will take attendees to Capitol Hill for meetings with members of Congress and their staffs where they can share first-hand experiences on the need for pro-growth policies, including reforms to the Affordable Care Act, as well as tax incentives, and immigration reform.
